PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information & Public Relations, Mian Iftikhar Hussain, has directed the authorities concerned the Information Department to carry out a full-fledged special campaign for highlighting the achievements and successes of the five-year tenure of the present government so as the general public could get aware of these achievements.

He issued these directives while chairing a high-level meeting of the Information Department here.

The meeting besides others was also attended by Secretary Information, Azmat Hanif Orakzai, Additional Secretary Information Faridullah Khan, Director Information Shuaib-ud-Din and Station Director Radio Pakhtunkhwa Zabita Khan Momand.

The meeting thoroughly discussed the salient features of the proposed campaign and decided that each and every mean of publicity including print and electronic media and cellular service would be used for proper propagation of the government’s five-year performance.

It was also decided that a series of press briefing by the concerned ministers and its administrative secretary of each nation building department would be formally initiated from December 7 this year on weekly basis.

Speaking on the occasion, Mian Iftikhar Hussain maintained that after the 18th constitutional amendment, a new Pakistan with strong federating units has emerged. He added, due to this amendment, the resources of all the federating units have been increased. He said that despite terrorism and militancy, the performance of the present government has remained remarkable and its five-year tenure could be compared with the past 60 years.

The minister continued that the incumbent government has done a lot but due to terrorism and militancy, it was invisible which needs to be publicized before the masses. He claimed that special initiatives and mega projects particularly in the energy and power, education, law and order, finance, industry, health, irrigation and public health engineering sectors have no match in the past.

He specially referred to the Bacha Khan Khpal Rozgar Scheme, Stoori Da Pakthunkhwa Programme, Laptop scheme, Hunarmand Scheme, Traditional Loan Scheme, establishment of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Oil and Gas Company, launching of hydle power projects of 2400 megawatt, identity of the province, net hydle profit, NFC Award, establishment eight university and its nine campuses and allocation of four per cent of GDP for education sector.
