LAHORE - Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran has said that no nation can progress without promotion of research culture and knowledge.

He was addressing in High Achievers Awards Ceremony, organised by Custom Public School at Alhamra Cultural Complex. President SAARC Chamber Iftikhar Ahmad Malik, Principal Custom Public School Saira Zaheer Butt, Shahida Khan, teachers, students and their parents were also present on the occasion.

Dr Kamran said that the Muslim had strong faith and emotions and if 1.4 billion Muslim started working together with unity they could emerge as the most powerful nation in the world. He said that Pakistani nation was full of countless qualities and resources but they were not being utilized.

He said that Pakistan was spending 1.4 percent of its GDP on education which should be at least 5 percent. He advised the students to pay attention to their studies with dedication and whatever the goal they wanted to achieve in future, they should work hard for it.  He advised the students to keep an eye on their own deficiencies rather than criticizing others. He also advised them to study literary book poetry, novels etc side by side studying their course books. He congratulated the school administration on successfully organising the event.  Later, certificates and prizes were distributed among distinguish students.

WORLD DISABLED PERSONS DAY: The PU Department of Special Education is celebrating International Day of Disabled and organizing a seminar titled “Empowering Persons with Disabilities: Success Stories” on Monday at Waheed Shaheed Hall at Institute of Education and Research.  Distinguished persons with disabilities, professionals working in the field of special education and students with and without disabilities will participate in the seminar.
