QUETTA - Khan Shaheed Abdul Samad Khan Achakzai was one of the great leaders of 20th century who through his sacrifices and struggle compelled Britishers to quit this region.These views were expressed by leaders of Pakthunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP), including Abdul Rahim Khan Mandokhel, Akram Shah, Dr. Kaleemullah, Usman Kakar and others while addressing a big public gathering in connection with the 39th death anniversary of Khan Shaheed Abdul Samad Khan Achakzai, here on Sunday.Paying tributes to Samad Khan Achakzai, speakers said he raised voice for the liberation and rule of people in an era when British rule was at its peak.“He played an important role in uniting Pakhtuns and faced numerous difficulties and hardships throughout his life,” they added.They said that during the military rule of General Ayub Khan in 1958 he was imprisoned for 14 years and remained in jail throughout Ayub Khan’s rule. They said that Samad Khan Achakzai, had also played key role in elimination of one unit after the many ethnic groups got their identity but Pakhtuns were deprived of their identity. They said that Pakhtuns were deprived of their rights in Balochistan who had been neglected in development budget, education and other sectors.
