Shahida Kausar Farooq, chairperson Subh-e-Nau and tournament organising committee, said Subh-e-Nau had always introduced innovative ideas in tennis and had once again come up with this idea to give equal cash award to female players so that their services were also acknowledged. She recalled that it was SN which started giving prize money to junior players back in 1990 and it is now a norm and we have a healthy pool of junior players. She hoped that SN's step would also bring healthy competition among female players.

She felicitated PTF Patron Syed Dilawar Abbas for becoming Senior Vice President of Asian Tennis Federation. She hoped that his tenure would bring international tennis back to Pakistan and would help in portraying better image of the country.
