Rawalpindi - Police, Quick Reaction Force (QRF) and Pakistan Rangers held a flag march on city’s roads to create sense of security among the people on the occasions of Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and local government (LG) election in the district.

The flag march, supervised by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Karamat Ullah Malik, started from Police Line Number 1 and culminated at its starting point after marching on Ammar Chowk, Katcheri Chowk, Flashman Chowk and Murree Road. Besides well-equipped police commandos, QRF and Pakistan Rangers, the flag march was participated by sub-divisional police officers, station house officers, extra force of police line and motorcycle squads.

Meanwhile, Rawalpindi police, following the instructions of City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi, carried out a search operation in areas of Sadiqabad including Khurram Colony and its surroundings in connection with National Action Plan (NAP).

Officials of intelligence and other law-enforcement agencies also assisted the police team which checked 120 houses and 283 persons. However, no arrest was made during the door to door search operation.

On the other hand, a police team raided a local hotel and arrested three men and women involved in immoral activities. According to police spokesman, police station Sadiqabad officials conducted a raid at Al-Madina Hotel and held Waqas, Zohaib and a female who were allegedly involved in immoral activities. Police registered a case against the accused and presented them before a court. The court sent them to Adiala Jail.

A police team of Ratta Amral claimed to have arrested some five suspected dacoits and recovered weapons from their possession. According to details, police on a tip off raided at Railway Road and held five persons including Muhammad Naseer, Muhammad Salman, Rehmat Murad alias Bandi, Asmat Ullah and Muhammad Aziz. Police also recovered three pistols of 30-bore, 12 bullets and two daggers from their possession. A police officer told that the accused were planning to commit a dacoity somewhere when police apprehended them. A case was registered against the detainees while further investigation was on, he said.
