Karachi: Three militants were killed in a shootout with Rangers in Lyari, the paramilitary spokesman said.

According to the spokesman, on a tip-off, Rangers conducted raid in Lyari’s Gul Muhammad Lane, where exchange of fire took place with the militants.

“The armed encounter took place overnight in Lyari area of Gul Muhammed Lane where a paratrooper was also wounded in the clash. He has been shifted to hospital” the spokesman said.

Heavy contingent of paratroopers entered the area to capture the saboteurs. However, the criminals ambushed them with heavy fire, injuring a Rangers man. The paratroopers immediately cordoned off the area and gunned the miscreants down.

According to Rangers spokesman, latest firearms were recovered from the possession of the terrorists, whose bodies have been shifted to police station for their identification.
