Now, the foreign customers make payments in euro. The situation causes great financial loss to the exporters, said Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry Acting President Mir Alamgir expressing grave concern over the situation.

He urged the federal government to fix the prices of US dollar, pound and euro for months on permanent basis. He said that the Sialkot exporters had demanded government’s direly needed support to offset the adverse effects of the appreciation of the exchange rate on their revenue. They said that appreciation of rupee against euro would wreak the value-added exports from Sialkot.

He narrated that the strengthening of the Pak rupee against euro was a very good and healthy sign to boost the national economy.

He asked the government to make some effective and positive measure to heal the wounds of Sialkot exporters. He added that there was no decrease in the prices of the imported goods especially the raw materials despite the decline in the euro prices. He urged the federal government to ensure early reduction in the prices of imported goods to facilitate the business community.

He urged the government to ensure the benefits of the devaluation in euro prices to the common people who still were deprived of the benefits of strengthening Pak rupee.
