LAHORE-Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khan Khosa on Monday came down hard on bureaucracy as he chaired a meeting of heads of federal government departments at the Governor House on instruction of PM Gilani.

Provincial heads of various federal departments including WAPDA, Railways, Suigas, NADRA and BISP attended the meeting.

Senior PPP leaders, Jehangir Badr, Sami Ullah Khan, Samina Khalid Ghurki, Imtiaz Safdar Warraich and Raja Riaz were also in attendance and expressed their dissatisfaction over performance of these departments regarding redressal of public complaints.

They complained that officers listened more to PML-N MNAs and ministers, while they would normally give a cold shoulder to those belonging to the PPP.

“Enough is enough”, said Khosa while warning the bureaucracy. He said officers will have to change their attitude and help resolve peoples’ problems pertaining to their departments. The governor further warned that strict action would be taken against the officers if they did not cooperate with the elected representatives in respect of public issues.

Khosa noted that PPP had come to power through peoples’ votes and it was its primary responsibility to address their problems. The governor constituted a committee comprising PPP legislators, Tanvir Ashraf Kaira, Faiza Malik and his advisor Tanvir Butt to listen to public complaints against federal departments.
