SARGODHA - A large number of CNG stations’ owners and transporters observed strike and took out protest rally on Monday.

The protestors burnt tyres and blocked University Road. The main rally was led by Syed Hassan Shah, Central Vice Chairman All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA), Farhat Abbas Divisional Chairman, Haji Ilyas Maken Vice Chairman, Irfan Bhatti Tehsil President, Syed Mehmood Bakhush Gillani and other office-bearer. A large number of owners of vehicles and school vans also present participated in the rally.

Addressing the rally, CNG Association CVC Syed Hassan Shah said that the incumbent rulers had planned to ruin the CNG sector and forced thousands of people related with the sector to starvation. He said that all 83 CNG stations in Sargodha Division were closed and a complete strike was being observed throughout the division. He said that they did not accept LPG development levy on CNG and demand withdrawal OGRA’s prohibition on the sale of CNG to public transport.

He said that they also demanded rationalisation of CNG loadshedding. Meanwhile, the participants of the rally including CNG stations’ owners and workers along with transporters marched on various roads of the city and staged a demonstration in front of Press Club. Due to strike and protest citizens faced traffic problems while girls and boys students could not reach schools and colleges because of no availability of transport.
