LAHORE – Race Course police have lodged a case against 35 members of Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) including its president for violating the ban on protest rallies at The Mall.

The Lahore High Court has ordered complete ban on protests on The Mall. The LCCI office-bearers and members had arranged a protest walk against closure of gas fuel for industries from LCCI to Governor House and had also staged a sit-in outside Punjab Governor’s House.

Race Course police registered a case against LCCI President Irfan Qaiser, VP Kashif Younas Maher, Senior VP Abdul Basit and other 35 members of the LCCI. A senior police officer said that no one has been arrested so far but defiantly raids would be carried out to arrest them. Further investigations are underway.

body recovered: A body of a 32-year-old murdered man was recovered in Manawan Police area on Monday. The deceased was identified as Bilal, a resident of Gujranwala area. Police investigators associated to the case said that the deceased was found dead lying near Haveli of Manawan Village with multiple bullets wounds on different parts of his body. They said that some locals informed the police, which searched the body and recovered a pistol, a wrench, a mobile phone and an ID card from his clothes. “Apparently, it seemed the man was gunned down by some unknown criminals who later escaped after throwing deceased’s body at this place,” a police officer said, adding we are trying to trace the relatives of the deceased after shifting the body to the City morgue for autopsy.

man found dead: A 45-year-old unidentified man was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Tibbi City police precincts on Monday.

According to police, the body of the deceased was traced by some locals on Shimla Road but no identification document was recovered from the clothes of the body. Police suspected that the deceased was a drug addict and died due to hostile cold weather in the City. Police  removed the dead body to the city morgue.
