SARGODHA - A police contingent, comprising personnel from three police stations of Sargodha and accompanied by Elite Force, faced stiff resistance during a raid carried out in Jarranwala in which an outlaw was killed here the other night.

According to a press release issued from DPO Office, unknown accused boarded a Truck LES-1011 had stormed the suburban Village 21-Rassala on the night between December 16 and17. The accused looted cattle worth Rs3 million of a villager namely M Aslam and fled away. However, the truck the culprits were travelling on broke down and they had to flew a away leaving the cattle-laden truck. Later, the Saddar Police seized the cattle and truck and started investigation after registration of a case number 656 dated 20/12/11 under Sections PPC 395/412 against 12 accused.

Meanwhile, the Saddar Police traced out the accused including Sabir alias Kali Awan, a residence of Jarranwala district Faisalabad and his accomplices Asif and Ashraf.

A police raiding team comprising Saddar Police SHO Amir Abbas, Atta Police SHO Shaheed Khalid Mehmood and Bhagtanwala Police SHO Mukhtar Bhatti conducted a raid in Jarranwala at the hideout of accused. However, the accused offered stiff resistance by locking in a gunfight with the police personnel. The police also retaliated and during the trade of fire Sabir alias Kali Awan was killed and his accomplices managed to escape from the scene.
