KASUR - Two robbers were injured in an encounter, here on Saturday, at Kot Radha Krishan police remits. Two robbers were snatching a motorcycle from Muhammad Ali at gun point near Zafarkay railway crossing when a police party reached there. After an exchange of fire between the robbers and police, both the robbers were injured and arrested.

The robbers were later identified as Shoaib and Waseem. The injured robbers were referred to Civil Hospital Kot Radha Krishan from there they were referred to Lahore Jinnah Hospital in critical condition.

TMA officers, vendors come to blows

Two people including a TMA official and a vendor were injured during a scuffling between fruit vendors and TMA officials, here on Saturday, during a crack down at Katchery Road, in the limits of B-Division police station. TMA officials headed by land officer Shoukat Ali reached Katchery Road, near Qatal Gari Chowk with trolleys and allegedly they turned over the fruit vendors carts and then started throwing the carts in the trolleys.

Seeing the destruction of their livelihood, an argument erupted between the vendors and the TMA land officers. After hot words they came to blows. As a result, land officer Shoukat Ali and fruit vendor Waqas Yousaf sustained injuries. Rescue 1122 rushed them to DHQ hospital.

TMA officials took to their heels leaving the trolleys there. Fruit vendors, later, ransacked the trolleys. Led by vendor Muhammad Saleem, scores of vendors staged a protest and blocked the Katchery Road by burning tyre and chanted slogans.
