ISLAMABAD – Opposing a presidential reference to Speaker National Assembly for establishment of a commission to form two new provinces, the PML-Q (Likeminded) has demanded of the president to send a reference for Hazara province too.

Chairman Steering Committee, Pakistan Muslim League-Q (Likeminded), Salim Saifullah Khan has said if President Zardari does not order formation of a commission to form Hazara province, his party will strongly oppose the reference sent to the Speaker National Assembly Dr Fehmida Mirza for formation of a commission to create two new provinces namely South Punjab and Bahwalpur.

He urged the president to send reference to Speaker NA for setting up a commission on Hazara province which was the voice of Hazara people.

He said Ch Shujaat had once mentioned that he had signed an agreement with Zardari regarding formation of new provinces including Hazara. “Whether any such agreement was signed between Zardari and Shujaat or Q president was making fun of the people’s sentiments,” Saifullah questioned. He said the people of Hazara had given numerous sacrifices for Pakistan, one could not find such examples in the history.

He warned that if the commission was not formed by President Zardari, his party would raise voice on the issue at all platforms for Hazara people adding that it could have serious consequences.

It is worth-mentioning here that President Zardari has sent a reference to Speaker National Assembly to form a commission comprising members National and Punjab assemblies to look into the matter for creation of two new provinces namely South Punjab and Bahawalpur.
