LAHORE – University of the Punjab produced 12 PhDs in the fields of High Energy Physics, Education, Urdu, Medicine (Urology), Biological Sciences, Islamic Studies and Administrative Sciences (Management).

As per details, PU awarded PhD degree to Muhammad Imran Jamil S/o Muhammad Jamil Akhtar in the subject of High Energy Physics after approval of his  thesis entitled “q2 q-2 Systems in QCD-Based Models and Scalar Mesons”, Muhammad Tahir Khan Farooqi S/o Muhammad Khan in the subject of Education after approval of his thesis entitled “A Comparative Study of the Conflict Management Styles and Organizational Environment at University Level”, Timoor Hasan S/o Muhammad Younas in the subject of Urdu after approval of his thesis entitled “Jadeed Ghazal ki Tashkeel aur Shakaib Jalali”.

Jan Muhammad S/o Abdul Khalique Memon got PhD degree in the subject of Medicine (Urology) after approval of his thesis entitled “Morphology and Compositional Analysis (Infrared Spectroscopy) of Urinary Stones in Central Sindh (Nawabshah and Adjoining Areas)”, Rahseeda Bashir D/o Ch Bashir Ahmad in the subject of Microbiology & Molecular Genetics after approval of her thesis entitled “Genetic Study of Recessive Moderate to Severe Hearing Loss in Pakistan”, Muhammad Shabbir Ali S/o Sardar Muhammad in the subject of Education after approval of his thesis entitled “Effect of Test Anxiety and Attitude Towards Science on Students’ Achievement in Science”, Bibi Nazia Murtaza  D/o Ghulam Murtaza in the subject of Biological Sciences after approval of her thesis entitled “Molecular Analysis and Detection of Specific Mutations in K-Ras (Kirstein Ras Viral Oncogene Homologue) in Pakistani Colorectal Cancer Patients”.

Arshad Munir D/o Munir Ahmad Khan was awarded PhD in the subject of Islamic Studies after approval of his thesis entitled “Customs and Traditions in Pakistan Against Women Rights: A Study in the Light of Contemporary Thought & Islam”, Nosheen Akbar D/o Muhammad Akbar in the subject of High Energy Physics after approval of her thesis entitled “Gluonic Excitations in Meson-Meson Systems”, Zia Ullah S/o Faqir Muhammad in the subject of Administrative Sciences (Management) after approval of his thesis.

 entitled “Towards Quality Assessment Model of a Teaching Hospital: A Study of Mayo Hospital, Lahore”, Ishrat Aziz D/o Aziz Ullah Khan in the subject of Biological Sciences after approval of her thesis entitled “Spectrum of TP53 Tumor Suppressor Gene Mutations and Codon 72 Polymorphism in Pakistani Female Breast Cancer Patients” and Khizar Hayat S/o Ahmad Yar in the subject of Education after approval of his thesis entitled “Islamic Model of Educational Change”.

PU students shine in All Pakistan Debate Contest: Punjab University Institute of Communication Studies students Noor-ul-Murtaza and Ali Akbar have won team trophy in All Pakistan Urdu/English debate contest which was held at FC College Lahore. Noor-ul-Murtaza won 1st position in English debate contest individually. In this contest almost 32 universities from all over the Pakistan including GC University Lahore, PAF Risaalpur, Agriculture University Faisalabad, GC University Faisalabad, Gomal University Dera Ismael Khan, Baha-ud-din Zakrya University Multan, Lahore College for Women University and Kinnaird University were participated. Acting PU VC Prof Dr Liaqat Ali has congratulated the shining students on their success.
