QUETTA - Two lawmen were killed when militants raided a Levies Force post in Rado area in Awaran on Saturday.

Deputy Commissioner Ehsan Baloch said unidentified armed men stormed the post at Rado area of Tehsil Jaho and killed two security men.

The deceased were named as Rasool Buksh and Muhammad Umer Jan. Sources said the attackers also pillaged weapons. No group claimed the attack till filing of this report. A case has been registered and a hunt for the culprits is on.

Few days ago, militants get away with weapons in attack on a Levies station in Awaran. The banned Baloch Liberation Front claimed responsibility for the attack.  In Quetta, a Hazara man was killed and another sustained wounds in a drive-by shooting on Sariab Road.

According to police, the victim, identified as Muhammad Ali, was travelling on a rickshaw when he came under attack by armed motorcyclists, killing him on the spot and injuring the driver.

Police reached the site and cordoned off the area. The deceased and injured were rushed to the Provincial Sandeman Hospital. The victim belonged to the Hazara community.

“Preliminary reports indicate that it was a sectarian killing,” a police official said, adding that raids were underway to net the killers.  Unknown bikers hurled three hand grenades at the house of Muhammad Rafiq in Killi Geo area of Quetta.

The grenades, which landed at the courtyard of the house, went off damaging its wall and a car.
