The Kasur Saddr Police claimed to have seized 8,000 kg of dead animals’ meat and arrested two persons here the other day. According to detail, the police said that the accused namely Riaz, a resident of Mustafabad and Sadiq, a resident of village Saad Dhala had been involved in supplying dead animals’ meat to different hotels in the city. On a tip-off, the Sadr Police established a picked at Steel Bagh Chowk. However, as soon as the accused saw the police they tried to flee in a van but the police chased them and recovered 8,000 kg of dead animals’ meat. The Saddr police have registered a case.TWO ACCUSED CONDEMNED TO DEATH: Two murder accused were sentenced to death and fined in two separate cases here the other day. According to detail, Additional District and Sessions Judge Rana Muhammad Saleem sentenced Ashfaq Masih and fined him of Rs100,000 while acquitted co-accused Ejaz Masih, Faryad, Shehzad Masih and Abid Masih by giving them the benefit of the doubt.According to the prosecution the accused shot dead a woman Khursheed Bibi in village Deputywala in the limits of Kot Radha Kishan Police over a petty matter. Similarly, Additional and District Sessions Judge Qaisar Nazir Butt awarded death sentence an accused namely Zaffar Iqbal to death and fined of Rs200,000. The court also acquitted co-accused Shehzad and Shehbaz due to lack of evidence. According to the prosecution, the accused shot dead one Muhammad Iqbal over a land dispute in village Beharwal in the remit Sarai Mughal Police in 2009.Bandits sweep house: Unidentified dacoits looted cash, gold ornament, cellphones and other valuables from a house here in village Rosa Tibba in the limits of Chunian Police the other day. Reportedly, the bandits entered the house of Abaibur Rehman and held the family hostage at gunpoint. The culprits made off with 18 tolas of gold, Rs200,000, 5 cellphones and other valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees.
