The Chunian City Police have busted Siddique alias Siddiqo Odh Rustler Gang and have arrested four of its members including the ringleader Siddiqo. The police also recovered cattle heads worth millions of rupees from their possession. Addressing a press conference here DSP Ehsan Elahi Khokhar said that on special instructions of the Kasur DPO, a swoop was launched on professional criminals in the area. During the campaign, the police arrested four members of notorious gang including ringleader Siddique alias Siddiqo, Anwar, Hanif and Yasir alias Yasri. The police also recovered illegal weapons including pistol 30 bore, gun 12 bore with bullets, four cellphones, cattle heads including goats and buffaloes worth millions of rupees.A special raiding team headed by Chunian City Police SHO Rana Muhammad Iqbal arrested the criminals when they were attempting to whisk away cattle in bamboo woods in suburban village “Chah Alam Wala”. This gang used to commit Dacoity, cattle rustling and street crime in Chunian. Talking to this scribe, notorious Siddiqo said that he had been engaged in the crime since long. He disclosed that he was condemned to death under Section 302 in the past, however, his punishment commuted to life term later. He said that after release from jail he constituted the gang. About his modus operandi, he said that they used to snatch/steal cattle from different areas and stock it in a rented home in Pattoki, from where they sell it to a butcher who was also their gang member. He informed that one his brother was at death row in District jail Kasur.Few days back, the gang members barged into the house of Liaqat Ali, a resident of Fatahpur and made off with jewellery, cash and other valuables. The accused critical injured both house owner and his wife when they put up resistance.
