BAHAWALNAGAR - The Bahawalnagar District Bar Association (DBA) on Thursday observed a complete strike against United States charges on Pakistani army. According to details, the DBA boycotted the courts and staged a protest against the baseless allegations against the army by American officials. Led by DBA President Chaudhry Noor Hasan, the protesting lawyers rallied from DBA Office to Wapda Circle Office. They were carrying placards inscribed with slogans against the US. They also railed against Wapda authorities for carrying out 20-hour power loadshedding in the district. Addressing the protesters at Minchinabad Chowk, lawyers leaders condemned the irresponsible statement of American leaders, and demanded the government to act accordingly in larger interest of the country as well as the nation. They also demanded the government to end loadshedding. Meanwhile, a DBA delegation met Wapda officials. After their assurances that no unscheduled loadshedding would be carried out, lawyers called off their strike.
