Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry President Zubair Ahmed Malik said that the present government had miserably failed in providing any relief to the business community of the country.

He also demanded immediate revival of the economy of Pakistan, saying that increase in dollar value was ruining the national economy.

He was addressing an important meeting of Sialkot exporters and industrialists held here under the auspices of Pakistan Gloves Manufacturers and Exporters Association. He pledged to make an all-out effort and FPCCI’s full cooperation to boost and flourish the export-oriented soccer balls, surgical instruments, leather goods, gloves. He also pledged to remove all the hurdles from exporters’ access to the world trade markets and help the Sialkot exporters to explore and capture the international trade markets as well.

The FPCCI president also urged the Sialkot exporters to also focus on the causes of decline in the exports of football, surgical instruments and leather goods from Sialkot. He said that there was no doubt to say that the Sialkot exporters have enough potential to explore and capture the world trade markets by exporting their best quality diversified traditional and non-traditional export items. He announced that the FPCCI would give a helping hand to Sialkot business community to flourish export-oriented cottage industries of Sialkot jointly.

Earlier, addressing an important meeting held at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the FPCCI president vowed not to support the tax evaders, saying that the people earning wealth from the country should come forward and pay their taxes being the loyal Pakistanis.

He made it clear that multiplication of the taxes by the federal government was not acceptable to FPCCI, saying that there would be no compromise on the integrity of the businessmen in the country.

President FPCCI said that the FPCCI is playing an active role in presenting problems of trade, industry and environment and safeguarding the interests of the private sector through constant dialogue with the government.

He said that the FPCCI has its fingers on the pulse of the economy and serves as a bridge between the private sector and the government. He added that the FPCCI has voiced collective opinion, concern and aspiration of the private sector and offered helpful advice and solid assistance to the Government in its efforts to promote exports, encourage foreign investment and stimulate economic activity in the country.

He narrated that the FPCCI was sponsoring general and specialised business & investment delegations to foreign countries, organising Pakistan’s participation in international fairs and exhibitions, maintaining constant liaison with Pakistan Diplomatic and Commercial Missions abroad, exchanging information relating to trade, industry and economy with foreign chambers and Institutions. He said that it is also encouraging and infusing competition among leading exporters of the country by giving them export awards every year and mediating in the resolution of commercial disputes between the Pakistani and foreign businessmen.

He disclosed that Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry was focusing on finding out new avenues of trade enhancement through trade diplomacy.
