ISLAMABAD – Khan Research Laborites (KRL) Football Club returned home after winning runner-up trophy in the AFC President's Cup event. With this performance, KRL FC became the first club in the country’s history to reach the final of such a high-profile event. The club lost the final against the Balkan FC of Turkmenistan by 1-0. The track record of KRL FC in the AFC President's Cup was brilliant as they played six matches to reach the final out of which they won four, lost one and one ended in a draw. They scored 14 goals and only two goals were scored against them. KRL FC didn’t hire a single player from abroad as all were Pakistanis. It may be considered as the first milestone leading towards a bright future of the game in Pakistan.–Staff Reporter
