ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation (PTBF) secretary Ijazur Rehman held Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Director General Syed Amir Hamza Gilani responsible for non-participation of Pakistani bowlers in the prestigious 49th Kubica AMF Tenpin Bowling World Cup in Russia.

“Two-member team comprising Ijaz and Khawaja Ahmed were selected to represent Pakistan in that event, but despite repeated requests for release of funds and instructions from Inter Provincial Coordination Minister Syed Riaz Hussain Pirzada to DG PSB for immediate release of funds, nothing in practical happened,” Ijaz alleged.

“We managed to send a female player Janet Shaikh for that event, who showed exceptional results by finishing at 45th out of 120 contestants, which was by all means a great achievement as female players hardly get chances to play at that level.” He said the federation got affiliated with PSB in 2011 but the PXB never came up to help the federation. He alleged that PSB was ruining his efforts to promote the game and DG Gillani has not been performing properly and is main cause of sports decline in the country.

Ijaz alleged that there were mass irregularities in the functioning of the PSB and urged authorities to make a thorough investigation into the PSB matters to save the sports and sportsmen future of the country. “There are number of other irregularities committed right under the nose of Gilani and I had complete documentary evidences. It is my humble request to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to savee Pakistan Sports and take action against corrupt elements,” Ijaz concluded.
