Speakers of different political parties opined in their speeches that the role of regional media could not be ignored as it always gave great coverage to the issues faced by the citizens at grass-roots level and also proposed their solution.

Experts from different walks of life stated that while addressing a seminar on "Role of Regional Journalism in Development of Country" held under the auspices of Readers Forum in at Kamalia TMA Hall here on Tuesday.

They stated that real issues of the masses were always resolved whenever they were pointed out by the media and the same should continue for the betterment of society and the development of the country. Those who addressed included PML-N MNA Asadur Rehman, former federal minister Khalid Kharal, Press Club President Rana Amjad, Readers Forum President Amjad Saeed Shad, Kamalia University founder Makhdoom Nazar Hussain, former district nazim Ch Muhammad Ashfaq, Additional District Collector Malik Khadim Jeelani, Kamalia AC Syeda Ramla Ali, DSP Salim Warraich, PPP leader Saadat Kharal, former MNA Riaz Fatyana, Fesco Xen Afzal Kathia, PTI leader Sajida Kathia and Advocate Abdul Rehman Dogar.

ANTI-POLIO DRIVE REVIEWED: On completion of three days anti-Polio drive, another 17,522 number of extra children of under five years of age were also vaccinated.

This was stated in a meeting held to review performance of the anti-polio drive with DCO Dr Farah Masood in the chair. On the occasion, the participants of meeting were informed that during the three days campaign, the vaccination target was achieved and 354,735 children were administered vaccine.
