RAWALPINDI - In a strange development, Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) chief Nawabzada Talal Akbar Bugti doubled the bounty on former president Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf’s head for his alleged crimes against humanity.

Talal Akbar Bugti made this announcement during a press conference here at the residence of Haji Gulzar Awan, PPP leader and former candidate of NA-57, on Tuesday.

Earlier, Talal had announced a bounty of Rs 1 billion and 100 acres of farmland on Musharraf’s head at a press conference in Quetta on October 9, 2010.

Addressing newsmen in Rawalpindi, he JWP chief said that a stable and peaceful Pakistan was in favour of everyone including the politicians.

He said that the situation in Balochistan was deteriorating with each passing day and the government should resolve the issue on priority basis or else the outsiders would take advantage from the chaos in the largest province of the country.

He said that Baloch have been battling with Kashmiris against Indian forces that is why India is creating law and order situation in Balochistan.

The government should also solve the burning issue of missing persons, Talal said in addition with Baloch were patriots and could never involved in anti-state activities.

He hailed the government’s move of trying Musharraf under article 6 for abrogating the Constitution and imposing emergency in the country adding that JWP would fully support this great step taken by PML-N government.

He alleged Musharraf of making attempts to destroy Pakistan through his erroneous policies. He said that Musharraf was involved in heinous crimes against the state and society such as military operation in Balochistan and Lal Mosque and murder of Nawab Akbar Bugti and he should not be apologised at any cost.

“I called on Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif and presented him 26 points based on Musharraf’s crimes including military operations, Benazir Bhutto’s assassination, toppling an elected government, Lal mosque operation and murder of Nawab Akbar Bugti,” he added. He said Musharraf posed a security threat and had undermined the sovereignty and integrity of Pakistan.
