Ten persons including a woman, three policemen and two teachers were killed in different incidents occurred separately on Tuesday.

According to details, in TT Singh three policemen were killed when a van they were travelling in rammed into a roadside tree while saving a speeding car on Khikha Road near Chak 297/GB here on Tuesday. The deceased were identified as ASI Sultan Ali, constables - Farrukh and Tanveer. A Sub-Inspector Mian Akram and two constables Mubashir and Abbas sustained critical wounds and the injured and dead bodies were shifted to DHQ Hospital. Similarly, in Khanewal, a speeding passenger bus crushed to death two schoolteachers here on Tuesday. Police said that a speeding passenger bus hit a motorcycle carrying two persons in Adhiwala area on Kabirwala Road.

Resultantly both the motorcyclist identified as schoolteachers 45-year-old Masood and 47-year-old Liaquat died on the spot. Police impounded the bus and arrested the driver.

In Gujranwala, two died in road accidents here. Asim, 25, a resident of Lohyanwala was going on motorcycle when on GT Road a speeding motorcycle hit him, as a result he sustained injuries and was being shifted to hospital but he died. In another incident occurred in Goreh Shah area, 50-year-old Asghar Ali was going on a bicycle when a tractor-trolley crushed him to death.

Meanwhile, in TT Singh a mentally-retarded man killed his mother and brother's minor daughter in Chak 710/GB near Kamalia. The accused identified as Humayun was locked in a room but he broke opened the room and entered his mother's room where his brother's daughter Amna and his mother Allan Bibi were asleep. He attacked both and tortured them to death. The family were not willing to take action against the accused. In Sheikhupura, a security guard posted in a leather factory on Lahore Road died when his own gun accidently went-off on Tuesday. The deceased Lal Din, a resident of Kohat was working in the factory for the last five years. The Factory Area Police are looking into the matter.
