I have read Mr. Khurshid Anwar's letter published on Jan 21,2007 in response to my article titled 'Unjust laws'. Mr. Anwar has always been anti-Bhutto but I did not know that he has now become an establishment spokesman also and is currently defending dictators and tyrants like Ayub, Yahya and Musharraf. And, then, he quotes the establishment toadies like Rafi Raza and Roedad Khan in support? My focus in the particular article was to highlight the establishment misrule and the damage done. I don't understand Mr. Anwar's defence of the evil empire. The only mention of Bhutto in my article is about article six of the 1973 constitution which clearly states that abrogation of constitution is sedation punishable by death penalty. It is time to punish the violators of the constitution to save democracy. Mr Anwar has to decide between democracy and establishment hegemony. -DR FARID MALIK, via e-mail, January 22.
