MIRANSHAH - The banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has unfolded the names of its 9-member political shura constituted to monitor and chalk-out the framework for holding talks with the government.

Talking to a private TV channel Monday, TTP leader Ehsanullah Ehsan said that the political shura headed by Qari Shakeel would include Azam Tariq, Maulana Ameerul Islam, Commander Ahmed (Sheena Bajauri), Anwar Gandapuri, Ameer Quetta Pir Sahib, Maulana Abdullah, Yasir and Commander Pashtun.

To a query, he said that they had so far placed no demand before the government. “We are nothing to do with the list being presented on the electronic and social media regarding our demands.” He said there is only one government representative in the committee formed by the rulers. “Similarly, our 5-member committee also contains non-Taliban members,” he said adding, :As long as the government continued with its present committee, Maulana Samiul Haq, Prof Ibrahim, Maulana Abdul Aziz, Imran Khan and Mufti Kifayatullah would represent us.”

TTP Spokesman Shahidullah Shahid said that they had not put forth any pre-talks condition. “We do not have trust in the government, so we have not included Taliban in the committee.” He said they feared that the government might arrest their negotiating members as it has been done in the past. He said that a meeting with their committee members is likely within a couple of days. He said that the visiting committee members would be provided all-out security.
