RAHIM YAR KHAN

Former prime minister and Pakistan People’s Party Vice Chairman Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani declared that dialogue between the government and Talban had nothing to do with the release of his son specifically. He, however, added that if exchange of prisoners took place as a result of agreement between the government and Talban, everyone including his son could be released.

He pointed out that the statements of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari were the part of party policy, insisting that the PPP was pursuing the policy of reconciliation but playing the role of a real opposition by highlighting the burning national issues.

He declared that future of the PPP was very bright and it would emerge as a strong power of Punjab soon. Yousuf Raza Gilani argued that resolution of the problems of Southern Punjab was linked with new province and the PPP would continue it struggle for the south Punjab province. Former Punjab governor Makhdoom Syed Ahmed Mehmood, former foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar, MNA Makhdoom Mustafa Mehmood and PPP district president Engineer Javed Akbar Dhaloon were also present on the occasion.
