The prize distribution ceremony of the Punjab Youth festival 2014 at tehsil level contests was held here the other day. PML-N MNA Malik Shakir Bashir Awais was the chief guest of the ceremony.

Addressing the participants, the MNA lauded the role of the Punjab Chief Minister who had provided youth of the province ample opportunities of sports and related activities by organizing Punjab Youth Festival 2014. He said that the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was taking keen interest in exploring the talent among youth of the Punjab in different fields.

Malik Shakir Bashir said that the promotion of sports was vital for developing a healthy society through ensuring the provision of equal opportunities to the youth.

He also appreciated and greeted the administration for organising the festival in best manner. AC Ch Ehsan Ullah, TMO Azhar Khan, Chief Officer Malik Muhammad Ramzan and PML-N Divisional Youth Wing Additional General Secretary Malik Muhammad Khalid Awan were also present on the occasion.

Annual Mehfil-i-Milad held: Annual Mehfil-i-Milad (SAWW) was held at Dera Mughlanwala here on Monday. The ceremony was presided over by Allma Qari Muhammad Ismail Sialvi. Hafiz Rifaqat Imran recited the Holy Quran. Prominent Na’at Khawan Muhammad Farooq presented Hamd-e-Bari Taala, while Dildar Ahmad Khan Baloch, Muhammad Hussain Naqshbandi, Muhammad Sameh, Muhammad Fasihud Din, Muhammad Qasim Sultani, and Hafiz Muhammad Ramzan mesmerized the atmosphere by presenting tributes in the shape of Na’ats.

Addressing the participants, Qari Muhammad said that Holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) came in this world as blessing for the women and provided unaccountable rights to them for living. Later, special dua was offered for the safety and prosperity of the country.

Scores attended funeral: Scores of citizens, lawyers, judges and politicians attended on Sunday funeral for late Ch Muhammad Younis, elder brother of senior lawyer Mian Muhammad Sharif Philori. He was uncle of Overseas Foundation Hospital Rajana MS Dr Omer Zeeshan and woman medical officer Dr Hina Sharif. Former Toba DCO Mian Kamaluddin also visited his residence and condoled the death of deceased with Mian Sharif. Senior Journalists forum president Javed Iqbal Nasir, Press Club President Manzoor Naz and former UC nazim Tariq Saeed also condoled the death Ch Younis.

Meanwhile, father of PTCL SDO Mian Zafar Mehmood died here on Sunday. Scores of people attended his funeral. Quran khawani for the departed soul will be held in Mustafabad at 9:00am on Monday.
