LAHORE - A 24-year-old youth was found shot dead inside a car in Johar Town on early Tuesday, police said. The deceased was later identified as Omar Raza, said to be the son of ex-MNA Chaudhry Pervaiz.

Some passersby spotted a suspected car parked alongside a road in Q-block and contacted the police by phone. “The hands and feet of the youth were tied with a rope and he was lying dead with multiple bullet wounds inside the car as the police reached the crime scene,” a police investigator said. The body was moved to the morgue for autopsy.

The family told the police that Oamr left his F-block residence late on Monday night to withdraw cash from a nearby ATM but he did not return.

Police investigators say they believe unidentified gunmen abducted the youth when he was leaving the ATM after withdrawing cash. Apparently, a police officer said, it seemed that the abductors tried to shift the victim to somewhere but they shot him dead and fled, leaving the body inside the car.

The police have registered a murder case against unidentified killers and are investigating with no arrest made yet.
