Islamabad - Capital Development Authority (CDA) has retrieved and taken possession of 300 kanals (37.5 acres) of land in sector E-12 after a special operation.

During the operation, heavy machinery of Machinery Pool Organization (MPO) of CDA was used. Officers and officials of land directorate also participated in the operation. With the possession of these 300 kanals, CDA has got possession of 1200 kanals in sector E-12 in a short span of time due to hectic efforts of current administration.

It may be recalled that CDA had launched sector E-12 in 1989 but it could not secure possession due to multiple reasons.

Now the focus of current CDA administration is to retrieve secure possession in all those sectors, which are under adverse possession so that these stalled sectors could be developed to facilitate the allottees that were allotted plots in these sectors many years ago.

With the possession of 1200 kanals in Sector E-12, now CDA is in a position to construct service road and it can also initiate development work in sub-sector E-12/2.

Now there is no hurdle in starting construction of service road as well as in the development of markaz in sub-sector E-12/2.

CDA retrieved this land after successful dialogue and consultation with the local elders and Numberdars of village Dherek, Mohri, Seri Siral and Dhok Chora.

The locals supported this operation and fully cooperated with CDA team. The cooperation and support of the locals will enable CDA to get possession of land of the whole sector and development activities in the sector would be completed.

Chairman CDA, Maroof Afzal directed member administration and estate that after possession of land, in first phase, work on construction of service road and markaz in sub-sector E-12/2 as well as development activities in the whole Sector E-12 should be started.  

Chairman CDA also directed the concerned formations of the Authority to seek the cooperation of locals during the possession of land and solve the longstanding issues in a peaceful manner so that the development activities could be completed.

Chairman CDA added that CDA was taking effective measures to ensure development work in the stalled sectors and it is on the top priority of CDA.

He said that recently, CDA has initiated development activities on various stalled projects such as development in Sector D-12, which are in full swing, adding that after award of contract; the development activities in Park Enclave are also in full swing and which would be completed in stipulated time.

Similarly, pre-qualification for development of Sector I-15 is in process and development work would also be started in Sector I-15 after the due process, he added.

 Chairman CDA, Maroof Afzal said that CDA is utilizing its all available resources for development of Sector I-12, I-14 and I-16, adding that sufficient funds have been allocated for development of these sectors.

Chairman said that with the completion of development work in Sector E-12, CDA would not only be able to overcome the shortage of residential units in Islamabad but it would also help bring down the ever-rising property prices in the city.
