Division Commissioner Muhammad Saqib Aziz has said that the benefits of reduction in the prices of petroleum products should reach to the common man.

While presiding over the Price Control Committee meeting, he said that it was the responsibility of the departments concerned to ensure that people should fully benefit from the decrease in the prices of petroleum products.

DGKhan DCO Nadeemur Rehman, Rajanpur DCO Ghazi Aman Ullah, Layyah DCO Rana Gulzar Ahmed, Muzaffargarh DCO Hafiz Shoukat Ali, Additional Commissioner Coordination Qazi Zaffar Iqbal, ACG Abdul Jabbar, EADs Ahter Jaleel, Muhammad Ibrahim Rashid, Muhammad Tahir and District Officer Enterprises & Labour also attended the meeting.

He said that the district coordination officers should ensure availability of petroleum products to the citizens at the fixed rate and there should not be any complaint of non-availability petrol or diesel at any petrol pump.

He directed that immediate action should be taken over non-availability of petrol or diesel and petrol pump owners involved in overcharging should also be taken to task without any discrimination.

He said that necessary measures should also be taken for bringing down prices of essential items, fruits, vegetables, meat and transport fares in ratio to the decrease in fuel prices.

He directed that Price Control Magistrates should pay surprise visit the markets in the division. On the occasion, officers concerned informed the Commissioner that fine amount Rs833,950 had been recovered from different shopkeeper and owner in 9,917 raid, while 31 shopkeepers arrested after due legal action in last month,.

On the other side, citizens were facing panic situation of petrol shortage on the filling stations in the city due to misconduct of filling stations owners after decrease in the price of petrol products. In the city mostly filling stations were closed.
