Islamabad -  Nguyen Xuan Luu, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, visited Auditor General of Pakistan Muhammad Akhtar Buland Rana here Tuesday and discussed issues of mutual cooperation between the supreme audit institutions (SAIs) of the two countries.   

Muhammad Akhtar Buland Rana said that it was a matter of great satisfaction that both the SAIs always maintained a very professional, friendly and cooperative relationship, reflecting the cordial ties between both the countries. The Auditor General of Pakistan and Nguyen Xuan Luu, also agreed to enhance mutual cooperation between the two SAIs in the field of training and capacity building.

The office of the Auditor General of Pakistan offered training facilities to Supreme Audit Institution of Vietnam. They discussed the proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between both SAIs which was initiated by SAI Vietnam. After finalization of proposed MOU the Auditor General of Pakistan would get approval of the same from Federal Cabinet before signing it.  The Ambassador of Vietnam said that the Auditor General of Vietnam might visit Pakistan to sign the MOU.

The issue would also be discussed in the up coming 13th ASOSAI Assembly at Malaysia in February 2015. The Auditor General of Pakistan congratulated the SAI Vietnam on their selection as host of 14th ASOSAI Assembly in 2018.

He asked the Ambassador of Vietnam to support SAI Pakistan for election as member of ASOSAI Governing Board in the upcoming 13th ASOSAI Assembly at Malaysia and expressed his gratitude for the warm reception during his visit to Vietnam in February 2013. He also expressed his appreciation for Vietnamese leadership in their hard work to rise to the changes of the current world.
