MULTAN

The families of the candidates who appeared in recent CSS examination, staged a demonstration at Chungi No-9 on Tuesday against shifting of interviewing centre to Lahore from Multan, demanding establishment of the centre in Multan.

The demo was led by Muttahida Shehri Mahaaz President Tariq Naeem Ullah. The protestors blocked the chowk and enchanted slogans against the discrimination with the candidates of south Punjab.

The Federal Public Service Commission, in an emergent notice to the candidates, who were to appear in the psychological assessment for the competitive examination in Multan, has intimated that the venue for their interview has been changed from Multan to Lahore. In the initial assessment, the candidates were asked to choose their preference for the examination centers and candidates from the south Punjab had preferred Multan city rather than Lahore. The written examination was conducted in Multan in March 2014 and for the candidates who had cleared the written examination, the medical examination was conducted in Lahore. After medical examination the psychological assessment was to be done in Multan. The candidates were initially informed that their interviews would be conducted at Bahaddin Zakriyah University but then the venue was changed.
