KHANEWAL - The district police seized huge quantity of weapons being transported from tribal area and arrested six accused.

According to details, the police got a tip-off that arms were trafficked into the region from tribal area. At which the police set up a picket at Jahanian and tried to stop suspected cars but the driver accelerated their speed but the police forced them to stop.

During search of the vehicles, the police recovered 89 30-bore pistols, three automatic rifles, two 22-bore pistols, 26 repeaters guns, five 22-bore rifles and five 44-bore rifles while arrested the accused including Yousaf, a resident of Lakki Marwat, Saeed of Gujranwala, Hamid Raza of Lodhran, Ashiq Hussain of Bahawalnagar,  Shabir of Khanewal and Abid of Lakki Marwat.

Later, Multan RPO Amjad Javaid Saleemi and Khanewal DPO Jahanzaib Nazir addressed a press conference and briefed the media men about the seizure of the weapons and network of the criminals.
