OKARA-All the religious and political parties of the country must shun their differences and unite for Nizame Mustafa, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) district amir Ch Rizwan Ahmed said.

He was addressing the oath taking ceremony of the JI members of district Majlis-e-Shura and all the zonal shura here the other day.

“Good cannot be hoped of those who have been casting slurs on the judiciary,” he said. He added the judiciary must continue the accountability process. The JI district amir further said that the country needed a sincere leadership which could give a befitting response to anti-Pakistan propaganda. He said all the problems of the country could be resolved by enforcing Shariah. Prof Saifullah Faizi, Prof Munir Ahmed Rasoolpuri, Dr Babar Rashid and Arsalan Sheikh also addressed the ceremony.

MAN BOOKED: The owner of a local Rice Processing Plant on GT Road was booked for carrying out rice procurement without verified weighing and measuring instruments here the other day.

Special magistrate Khalid Javed raided a local rice processing plant where the rice procurement was going on. The magistrate found no pricelist hung anywhere on the plant’s premises. There was also no verified weighing and measuring instrument at the plant for rice procurement. Workers at the plant including Ali Raza and Khalil Khan offered resistance to the team after they were asked about the procurement process. A case was registered against the plant owner, Syed Farooq Shah, under Price Control Act and Weight and Measures Act at the Okara Saddr police station.
