LAHORE - The worst traffic jam was observed in the City on Saturday and the citizens had to face serious difficulties during the visit of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani at Data Darbar and later Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in order to inquire after the health of the victims of Data Darbars deadly attacks. City Police, Elite Force and the Rangers personnel had arranged strict security measures at the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital as the security personnel stopped some of the ambulances carrying emergency patients at various parts of the City. A huge security convey of the premier also created a sense of insecurity among the general public as commuters staged a protest demonstration near Alhamra Arts Council against VVIP movement and public inconvenience due to it. The Mall and the Shaarey Fatima Jinnah, two leading Citys arteries, were completely closed down for the traffic and public as well for more than two hours while the security personnel also cordoned off the routes leading to the shrine of Data Sahib. At least 30 Elite Force vehicles besides Lahore Police vehicles, two ambulances and two fire brigade vehicles included in the prime ministers security convey. Interestingly, the heirs of the victims those injured in Data Darbar deadliest suicide attacks were forced to leave Sir Ganga Ram Hospital owing to security measures before the arrival of the prime minister. The heirs of the victims later staged a protest demonstration outside the hospital and chanted slogans against Prime Minister Gilani. Moreover, the shrine of the custodian of peace Data Ganj Baksh was completely vacated and the devotees were put aside due to security arrangements during prime ministers visit. The already furious devotees also staged a protest demonstration against the PM. They said such so-called public leader do not secure the right to enter the sacred place. If the premier have respect of Data Sahib then he must withdraw his huge security convey and deployed all of them at the shrine of Hazrat Ali Bin Usam Al-Hajveri (RA), one of the protestors namely Ahmad Shah said.
