LONDON (AFP) Kristyna Pliskova of the Czech Republic won the Wimbledon girls singles title on Saturday, beating Japans Sachie Ishizu 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 in the final. Ninth seed Pliskova, 18, beat 10th seed Ishizu, 17, in an hour and 43 minutes before a capacity crowd on the 11,400-seater Court One. It was the first meeting between the pair. The left-handed Pliskova is the twin sister of Karolina Pliskova, who won this years Australian Open girls singles title. Tokyo-born Ishizu knocked out the Russian second seed Irina Khromacheva in the quarter-finals and the British 2008 girls champion Laura Robson in the semis. Pliskova had an easier run to the final, only facing a seed in the last four, when she defeated Russian 15th seed Yulia Putintseva.
