OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE - Promising footballers of Lahore will show their skill when third Model Town Football Academy (MTFA) summer camp for males and females will commence on June 12 at MTFA Ground, Model Town. "As a footballer, the best I can do for youth in Pakistan is to give them a platform where they can learn how to play and make a living out of it," said MFTA President Mian Rizwan Ali. The 65-day camp will be concluded on August 16. The morning session of Male, having age 6 to 18 years, will be held five days a week from Monday to Friday. The timing will be 6 to 7.30 AM. The four-day a week evening session, from Thursday to Sunday, has been divided into two groups. The players whose ages range from 6 to 9 years will show their skill from 5.15 to 6.15 PM while those having age 10 to 15 years, will have to follow timing 4 to 5 PM. MTFA had launched their women wing last month that met enormous success with females footballers are joining the Academy regularly. The females summer camp U-18 female footballers will consume three days a week in evening session only. It will be arranged from 5.30 to 6.45 PM on Monday and Tuesday, and from 6.30 to 7.30 PM on Wednesday. "It is good opportunity for our girls to become fine footballers," said MTFA-Women Wing chief co-ordinator Lubna Afzaal. "Model Town Football Club was launched in 1985 while Academy started functioning in 2005, when we had only 25 youths on roll. We hit three-figure mark in 2006 and the numbers of boys went on increasing in 2007 and now we have 650 players in the list."
