Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested six proclaimed offenders wanted in separate cases including murder, dacoity and robbery incidents.

Accused Riaz and Nazir, the real brothers, residents of village Bharokey-Daska had killed local farmer Ejaz Ahmed in village Kotli Matwaan-Daska eleven years ago in 2003, the DPO revealed. Likewise, Daska police arrested Zulfiqar Ali alias Faqeer, who was wanted in another murder case for the last 17 consecutive years, he added.

District Police Officer Muhammad Gohar Nafees told newsmen that a police party led by DSP Daska Engineer Rana Zahid Hussain used the scientific methods of investigation and arrested both the fugitives from outskirts of the Faisalabad after raiding on a den.

Meanwhile, Qila Kalarwala police arrested proclaimed offender Imtiaz alias Kuk, a resident of village Sukhaana Bajwa. A police party led by Inspector Tahir Majeed Khan raided a den near village Jaadeywali and arrested the accused, who had been wanted since 2010 in two separate cases of murder registered at Wahndo and Satellite police stations.

The police also arrested two suspected dacoits Shehbaz alias Billa Kashmiri and Sarfraz alias Sarfu wanted in more than 22 cases of dacoity, robbery and theft. The police recovered a Kalashnikovs, pistol and snatched motorcycle. The DPO added that the accused used to commit dacoities mostly in the houses located in Gujranwala city’s posh areas including Satellite Town, Wapda Town and Jalil Town.

Airport police arrested kidnapper Waqas, who had collected millions of rupees from the grieved family of a local trader Khalid for his release. Begowala police arrested PO Muzamal Shehzad, who had escaped after breaking the lock-up of police eight months ago. The DPO has announced cash prizes and appreciation certificates for the raiding police parties.
