ISLAMABAD – Two-member Pakistan taekwondo team returned home after participating in 21st Asian Taekwondo Championship held from 25-28 at Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Pakistan Taekwando Federation (PTWF) president Lt Col Waseem Ahmed represented the country in Asian Taekwondo Union (ATU) general assembly. He said: “A total of 542 players participated in this event while Atief Arshad and M Ashfaq represented Pakistan in the -80kg and -63kg weight categories. They lost their quarterfinals.” He added: “During the ATU general assembly, I met with ATU president Ku Sick Lee and requested him to hold Asian Club Championship in Pakistan. He was very positive and wanted presentation on this matter for approval. I also requested chairman Taekwondo Foundation Dai Soon Lee to provide Pakistan mats and other related equipments.”–Staff Reporter
