SIALKOT

PPP Central Leader and former information minister Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif is performing very actively the role as an ‘undeclared’ foreign minister of the country and as chief minister of Pakistan.

She said that the incumbent rulers had made a record of foreign visits by ruthlessly spending from national exchequer.

She stated this while addressing the party workers at village Koobay Chak-Bajwat near Sialkot here the other day. She alleged that the incumbent rulers were rigging engineers and had miserably failed to provide any relief to people in any sector, adding that the rulers had failed to honour their promises made with the masses during their election campaign.

She alleged that the incumbent rulers of Punjab did nothing except shattering the trust of the masses. She said that the PPP would eliminate the sense of political deprivation prevailed among the public.

Dr Firdous said that the history of PPP was full of political sacrifices as the party had watered the democracy with its blood.

ANTI-TANK MINES DEFUSED: The Bomb Disposal squad defused two high intensity anti-tank land mines, found from fields along the seasonal Naullah Dek near bordering village Kang-Phalora, Pasrur tehsil here.

The officials said that both the anti-tank land mines were Indian made, rusting and weighed 9-kg each, which had been used in 1965 Indo-Pak War but they could not be exploded, saying that however, they were still alive. Some farmers found the land mines and informed the local police. Bomb Disposal Squad was called in from Sialkot, which defused the land mines, saving the area from heavy disaster.
