Islamabad - Aabpara police have booked a senior doctor of Federal Government Services Hospital (Polyclinic) and three others for attempting to kidnap and later injuring a local journalist.

According to details, Muhammad Iftikhar Khan reported to the police that Dr Fayyaz Sheikh, deputy medical superintendent of Polyclinic, and three others tried to kidnap him forcibly and later injured him outside his office in G-7 Markaz on March 2. According to the FIR number 122, the doctor was abetted by one Altaf Khan and two unknown persons in the crime. The police have registered the case under section 337-A/2, 506 of the PPC and further investigation is under way.  Meanwhile, Islamabad police have arrested 10 outlaws from various areas of the city, besides recovering 40 wine bottles, 220 litres of alcohol, 1.255 kilograms hashish, 500 grams heroin and weapons from their possession, a police spokesman said on Tuesday.

According to details, Secretariat police have arrested three accused Waris, Rameez and Ali Haider and recovered 40 wine bottles and two daggers from their possession. Tarnol police arrested a drug pusher Mohsin and recovered 500 grams heroin from him. Noon police arrested Safiullah and recovered one 30-bore pistol along with ammunition from him.

Aabpara police arrested a drug peddler Danyal and recovered 220 litres of alcohol and 52 empty wine bottles from him. Ramana police arrested an accused Bilal for alleged involvement in adulteration. Bhara Kahu police arrested two accused Habib and Ajmal Khan for alleged involvement in dacoity. Koral police arrested a drug peddler Anwar and recovered 1.255 kilograms hashish and one 30-bore pistol from him. Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is under way.

Furthermore, Secretariat police have apprehended five suspects. SSP Islamabad has appreciated this overall performance and directed all police officials to accelerate their efforts to curb activities of anti-social elements.
