The City Police claimed to have resolved the murder mystery of Dewan Muhammad Hashim, a clerk the Education Department who went missing last month.

According to details, two members investigation team of the City Police comprising Inspector Ghulam Mohiuddin Gujjar and SI Muhammad Yaqoob arrested two alleged culprits who confessed having killed Dewan Muhammad Hashim. The police on the information extorted from the culprits recovered the dead body of clerk Dewan Hashim which was buried in Yazman.

According to the investigators, slain Hashim had developed illicit relations with the fiancé of one the accused identified as Yaqoob at which he was strangled to death. They said that the accused Yaqoob with connivance two other accomplices had planned avenge from clerk Dewan Hashim who had not only developed illicit relations with his fiancé but also tied her knot with another person.

Last month, Yaqoob came from Karachi and hosted a party on sand dunes in Chak 11/DB Yazman. During the party, the slain clerk consumed alcohol and lost senses. Taking advantage of the opportunity Yaqoob along with his accomplices strangled him to death and buried his dead body there. Later, they returned on a car owned by the slain clerk which they parked in the jurisdiction of Musafir Khana Police.
