ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Tuesday took a disciplinary action and expelled its member of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Javed Nasim from the party for violating party discipline.

Central Information Secretary Dr Shireen Mazari in a statement said that disciplinary action had been taken against MPA Javed Nasim after the directions of Chairman Imran Khan and his basic membership of the party had been abolished.

The notification had been sent to Speaker KP assembly and he had been asked to de-notify him as member of that house and also inform the Election Commission of Pakistan, the statement said.

PTI had served a show cause notice to MPA Javed last Sunday for sponsoring a non-PTI candidate for the Senate from Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, under Section 7 of the Political Parties Order 2002 and the PTI Constitution. He had been given 24 hours to respond, failing which he would stand expelled from the party.
