LAHORE-Three in one, member Provincial Assembly, business woman and talented designer Hina Butt cuts a polished and affable demeanour. She has followed her passions well while her sartorial choices for a niche clientele are on trend, experimental and classy.

“Every time I wake up and be inspired by the creations of God. When I design my couture and prêt-à- porter collections, of course I supervise everything but this collection is close to my heart as it’s all about how and what I like to dress in these days. This is something what other girls should wear ideally on the ramp, red carpet or any glamorous evening engagement,” Hina Butt raved about her new collection.

Style comes from within and this is precisely what the collections boast of and by also taking a hint from the designer’s foray into formal training from a well known fashion school, ‘ESMOD DUBAI’-The French Fashion institute. Things have picked up since and self involvement is a plus, “I can sometimes have ten fittings for a couture dress until I am satisfied with the quality of stitching, feel and fall of the fabric. The dresses are then made in my atelier so I can follow it beginning to end.”

HB Closet is an off shoot of the brand Teena by Hina Butt that started off with semi formals initially and moved on to bridals while the luxury prêt was more focused on bling and embellishments. This is more about modern, chic prêt featuring tops, jumpsuits, bell bottoms, full skirts, layered dresses, slim cut suits and cocktail ensembles.

It’s difficult to veer away from the comfort zone that we build around ourselves and takes a mighty heart to indulge into something out of the ordinary; this is what exactly HB Closet chose to be- breaking boundaries with costumes that reflect the panache that the diva has now come to be. The clothes capture the glamour element and softness of femininity with aplomb.

Pulling a look by mixing and matching these separates that can be done up in various styles to suit to any occasion. A digitally printed midi skirt can be worn with mid calf tights and a plain top for a more conservative look while the same dress can be worn by elevating the accessories or adding a dramatic jewellery piece and complimented with a clutch for a formal wear. The tops come with a myriad of options- halter necks, cut out sleeves, peplum and unusual combos that spin a fresh, funky appeal with a girly vibe. Ruffles and layers along with a blend of fabrics and textures have made a comeback this season-HB Closet takes a cue here.

She has made a clever move by incorporating fabrics such as chamois, raw silk, organza, jamavar and pure grip for evening wear while breathable lawn and cottons can be transformed into an ideal daywear choice to deal with the Pakistani sweltering heat which also means an affordable line that is wearable with an oomph factor.

So why does the brand need to branch into western clothing was the obvious next question which Hina Butt elaborates on. “We have tried to incorporate different trends to cater to the youth who prefers wearing western silhouettes on fashion events. We are also expanding into Dubai market with an exhibition planned in May at the famous Gul Zeb’s, Carnival. The clientele there requires such popular fusion trends,” Hina said.

It’s a good idea to experiment with western clothing and we are more than anticipating the formal launch of the line that will be available at the HB studios for customized orders.
