Rawalpindi - A court yesterday granted bail to a university student in a case of kidnapping, torturing and videotaping two university students, including a girl, in objectionable position in a flat.

Area Magistrate Zeeshan Ali Rana awarded bail to Murad Khan, a BSC engineering student at Islamabad University of Science and Engineering (iUSE), after the complaints Awais Bhatti and Mahrukh Waheed said that they had accorded a compromise with the accused. The court also ordered the accused to submit surety bonds worth Rs 0.2 million with the court. The court confirmed pre-arrest bail of another accused student Mukaram. Farhad Khattak Advocate appeared on behalf of Murad Khan while Raja Nazir Ahmed Advocate was from the the prosecution side.

Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Azhar Gondal, who is investigating the case, had earlier submitted a report before the court giving clean chit to the arrested accused Murad Khan and Arman Butt in the case.

According to details, Area Magistrate Zeeshan Ali Rana took up bail plea of Murad Khan during which Mahrukh appeared before the court. The complainant recorded her statement before the judge that she had settled dispute with the accused and did not want to pursue the case. Earlier, Awais and Mahrukh had submitted an affidavit before the court.
