SIALKOT - Federal Minister National Regulation and Services Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the general elections will be held on time and those daydreaming about early elections will see their hopes dashed.

Talking to the newsmen here at Koobay Chak Bajwat, she said that the PPP-led government would complete its constitutional tenure and continue to serve the masses with devotion.

At this critical juncture the country could not afford adventurism as the situation warrants unity and solidarity to cope with challenges," she pointed out.

Dr Firdous claimed that the PPP was a symbol of federation and a guarantee to safeguarding geographical fronts of the country, adding that the party was making adequate efforts for strengthening democratic institutions and promote democracy at gross-roots level in the country.

The Federal Minister added that some anti-democratic forces were trying to weak the process of democracy for their personal gains. She urged the people that they should forge unity among their ranks to fail designs of anti-democratic elements.

Dr Firdous assured the gathering that the PPP-led government was mobilizing all available resources for providing basic facilities to the people at their doorsteps.

Earlier, the federal minister inaugurated sui-gas supply projects in five local villages including Aaiyma and Chaala.
