LAHORE – The Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) will declare the results of Intermediate (Annual) Examination 2012 on 8th.

However, according to the Lahore BISE spokesman, the names of position-holders will be announced on 7th in a press conference. He said Lahore BISE Chairman Nasrullah Virk would announce the names of position-holders.

Moreover, Virk has directed the secretary and controller of examinations that the results should be error free in all respects. Even a single case of ‘result late’ will not be tolerated. He has further directed to facilitate the students visiting the board office in connection with their results in a befitting manner. The said results are being prepared computerised and will be available on Lahore BISE website: as well as via SMS. The students who want to seek the information about their results through cell phone can send their roll number at 80029.

UVAS WORKSHOP: University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha said on Monday that teachers were nation builders and role model in the society and they must shoulder this responsibility with a student-centered approach. Addressing the inaugural session of a five-day workshop on ‘Course Design, Assessment and Microteaching’, organised by the Quality Enhancement Cell of the UVAS in collaboration with the Learning Innovation Division of the Higher Education Commission, he said there was no short-cut in practical life.

Dr Pasha urged the faculty to focus on discipline, punctuality and ethics, besides grooming the personality of their students. He also stressed the faculty to understand the field problems and interact more with students.

The workshop has been arranged to enhance and strengthen the pedagogical, assessment and planning capabilities of the faculty. As many as 25 UVAS faculty members are participating in the workshop.

PU CRICKET TRIALS CONTINUE: Hundreds of candidates desirous of getting admission to the Punjab University on sports basis are participating in cricket trials that will continue on Tuesday (today). The Punjab University administration has taken this step to facilitate more students. Due to a sizeable chunk of the candidates; it was not possible for the Sports Department to conduct cricket trial in one day.

HANDBOOK FOR PHD STUDENTS: A new handbook titled ‘Academic Research, Writing and Publishing: A Practical Handbook for PhD Students and Academic Researchers’ has been published by the Punjab University’s Department of Political Science Chairperson Prof Dr Umbreen Javaid as co-author. Punjab University Vice Chairman Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran has congratulated her on this achievement.

PU ADMISSIONS SCHEDULE: The Punjab University Examinations Department has issued the schedule of admissions fee and forms for MA Education Part I & II (Elementary / Secondary / General) Supplementary Examination 2011 and Annual Examination 2012, which will start from September 26 and 27, respectively.

According to details, the date of submission of admission forms is September 26 with single fee and September 26 with late fee.

While Bachelor of Fine Arts (4-years programme) in Painting with Print Making and Sculpture, Graphic Design, Textile Design Part-I, Annual Examination 2011, will start from September 17.
