ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has urged the Parliamentarians to take part in legislative business of the Parliament House on the onset of new session.“Parliament is the representation of the will of the people as they elect their representatives to solve their problems and legislate for them,” Prime Minister expressed these views while talking to Parliamentarians at his Parliament House Chamber. He said that Parliament is the custodian of the rights of the people of country and hence the responsibility lies on the elected representatives to legislate in the best interest of the people. He said that they have entered the elections and the focus should now be on the increasing contact with the masses. Those who met the Prime Minister included Syed Khursheed Shah Minister for religious Affairs, Engr Shaukat Ullah Minister for Safron, Sardar Saleem Haider MOS Defence Production, Nawab Yusuf Talpur, MNA, Akhuanzada Chitan, MNA, Haji Muneer Aurakzai, MNA and Noor ul Haq Qadri, MNA.Meanwhile, Minister for Interior, Senator Rehman Malik called on Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf at Prime Minister’s House Monday afternoon and discussed with him over all security situation in the country with special reference to situation in Karachi, Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan.Minister for Interior in his detailed briefing apprised the Prime Minister about the measures taken by law enforcement agencies to ensure maintenance of law and order in the country and safety of the life and property of the public.The Prime Minister directed the Minister for Interior to redouble his efforts and take every possible measure to ensure maintenance of peace and order in the country.
