ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said that they believed in the politics of harmony and consensus among the stakeholders of democratic order in the country and that was the reason PML-N was respecting the political mandate of all parties.

The prime minister expressed these views while chairing the meeting of party’s office-bearers from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter here at Prime Minister’s House on Tuesday.

The PM said that Pakistan is faced with many challenges so all political parties should join hands to steer the country out of the prevailing situation. “We respect the political mandate of all parties,” the premier said.

He said, “Law and order situation in the country is improving and operation Zarb-i-Azb is bearing its fruits.” He hoped that Karachi would be again a city of lights soon. The PM said that country needed mature and experienced leadership which could serve the nation with devotion and selflessness.

He said that completion of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would not only create economic turn-around for Pakistan but for the whole region.

Political situation in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa also came under discussion with specific focus on strengthening the party’s position at grass-root level in the meeting. The office-bearers of PML (N)-KPK apprised the prime minister of the political activities and latest developments regarding by-polls in NA-19 in Haripur district. The PM advised the Babar Nawaz Khan, PML (N) candidate for NA-19, to work hard with sincerity and leave the rest to Allah Almighty.

Governor Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa, Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan Abbasi; Minister for Religious Affairs, Sardar Muhammad Yusuf; Deputy Speaker National Assembly, Murtaza Javed Abbasi; President PML (N)- KPK, Pir Sabir Shah; Capt.(R) Muhammad Safdar (MNA), SAPM on Political Affairs Dr. Asif Kirmani and Engineer Amir Muqam; were present in the meeting.
